Privacy Policy

We don't have accounts, so there isn't much to collect

Watchlist Loop doesn't require sign-up or login. There is no username, password, or email tied to your use of the site. We don't know who you are.

What's stored, and where

Your watched-film progress and your “loops” (watchlist) are saved using your browser's local storage — on your device only. This data is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data, or using a different browser or device, will not carry it over — there is currently no account to sync it to.

We set one small cookie to remember your selected region (for showing relevant streaming availability). It isn't used for tracking or advertising.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, our hosting provider keeps standard operational logs of requests (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and reliability purposes. These logs aren't linked to any account or profile, because none exists.

Third-party data

Film titles, artwork, and overviews come from TMDB. Streaming and purchase availability comes from JustWatch, delivered via the TMDB API. These requests are made from our server, not your browser directly. See Data sources for details.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (built on Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used — which pages get visited, roughly how many people are using it, and general device/browser/location information. It isn't tied to an account, because none exists, and it doesn't know your name or email. It sets its own identifiers in cookies and browser storage to distinguish sessions, separate from the region cookie described above. This data is processed by Google on our behalf — see Google's privacy policy for how they handle it.

Where things stand today

We don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising yet. Watchlist Loop will always be free to use; a future release will introduce advertising to support that, rather than a paid tier. When that happens, this policy will be updated first to say exactly what's added and what data, if any, it involves.
